Site Design Labs
Below are the labs that we were required to complete throughout the semester accompanied by a brief description of each lab
LAB 1
This lab required us to calculate the minimum and actual F.A.R. for a given building and position the building in a way that maximizes solar heat gain.
LAB 2
This lab required us to lay out a hotel and a cafe on a site in order to fit a list of specific criteria
LAB 3
This lab gave us a grading chart with some numbers filled in and required us to calculate the rest of the chart.
LAB 4A
This lab required us to add a swale to an existing site to guide water into a retention pond
LAB 4B
This lab required us to add a swale horseshoe swale to guide water around a building pad
LAB 5A
This lab required us to regrade a site to guide water down 1 of 3 paths and into a catch basin without altering the grading under the dripline of existing trees.
LAB 5B
This lab required us to take the regraded site from Lab 5A and calculate the cut and fill.
LAB 6
This lab required us to regrade a site to guide water around a building using two swales. Afterwards, we had to calculate the cut and fill for the regraded site.
LAB 7
This lab required us to calculate and design the stormwater drainage system for a given site.
